Software Engineer
> ROLE OVERVIEW
The Member Portal team at the Institute for Nonprofit News is responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of tools and services that support the organization's mission to strengthen and empower nonprofit news outlets. As a software engineer on this team, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the portal and ensuring that it meets the needs of our members. Our team is collaborative, fast-paced, and passionate about using technology to drive social impact.
> CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and maintainable software applications using a range of technologies, including but not limited to Python, JavaScript, and React
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize product requirements, and to develop and implement technical solutions
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Member Portal's technical infrastructure, including databases, APIs, and other underlying systems
> HARD REQUIREMENTS & SPECS
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on building scalable and maintainable applications
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
- Experience with modern web development frameworks and libraries, such as React, Angular, or Vue
