> ROLE OVERVIEW
Physical Superintelligence is a startup building AI systems to discover new physics at scale. The company is seeking a Head of Core AI to lead the team that builds the models, agents, and training systems that do physics. The Head of Core AI will set the roadmap and own the resulting AI research portfolio in service of making PSI's AI systems better at doing real physics.
> CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set the Core AI roadmap and own the resulting AI research portfolio
- Hold the work to one bar: does it produce physics a real physicist would trust
- Stay technical and continuously review related work and emerging discussions in AI
- Partner with Applied AI and Engineering to ensure Core AI's work is valuable
- Hire and develop world-class talent
> HARD REQUIREMENTS & SPECS
- A track record of leading AI research teams that shipped
- At least three years of direct people management
- Deep technical fluency in modern ML: reinforcement learning, agentic systems, large-scale training, and evaluation methodology
